With a forecast of 5 hrs I hoped to get the rest of the frames for IC 417 tonight. It was still missing [O III] and with luck still a little RGB for the stars. In fact, it remained clear even longer, so I could also connect two more H-Alpha frames. With over 18 hours now, however, really enough time has been invested. However, the object still turned out to be difficult to work with.
Although exposure was continued for so long, the signals beyond H-alpha are relatively weak. There is still something going on in [S II], but [O III] has little to offer. Accordingly, the color green of the H-alpha channel dominates the Hubble palette. If you remove this green, there is hardly any color left. This little color has to be reinforced again, without to push color noise or other artefacts. Optionally you could create a Bicolor version. For this, however, only [S II] appears.
